The name Looney Tunes was inspired by Walt Disney's musical cartoon series called Silly Symphonies. 

The animation studio gained a higher profile following their newest addition of directors, Text Avery and Chuck Jones and voice of newest actor Mel Blanc
from 1942 - 1964, Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies became the most popular animated cartoon series
Since then, Looney tunes became a worldwide media franchise, publishing several television series, feature films, comic books, music albums, video games and amusement parks.

many of the characters have been made and continue to make appearances in various television shows, films and advertisements
